Hey, I’m Tarra.
I help you build writing and analytical skills to better understand, navigate, and influence the world us. I transform your scattered curiosities into focused expertise through bespoke curriculum design. I also support educators and community leaders in launching writing centers that prioritize critical thinking and intellectual liberation over standardized outcomes.
FAQs
Many of you find joy in the creation of your personal curriculum – but some of you don’t. And here’s where I can help.
Why shouldn’t I just use AI?
Now, you can absolutely get AI to do this for you – but because of the hallucination effect, you’ll end up double checking its work and it can get quite time consuming. Remember, this is a bespoke service, taking into account your specific needs.
Why should I use this system?
You could spend $1000+ on a one-size-fits-all curriculum or hours wrangling with AI hallucinations. Or you could have a bespoke system designed for your exact needs for less than half the cost.
How do I know my curriculum will be personalized?
I only take on 10 Curriculum Concierge clients per month, so I can devote the time to truly understanding your goals. This isn’t a pre-packaged plan — I build it with your voice, your values, your goals. It’s your curriculum, but made easier.
Why are you the best person to design my personal curriculum?
With 20 years of teaching experience, directing writing centers, chairing an English department, and designing curriculum for both high school and college, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t.
Why can’t I design this on my own?
Oh you absolutely can — but without a structured system, you’ll likely spend double the time re-inventing the wheel, and worse — you’ll risk burning out or missing opportunities to deepen your own (or your students’) learning.
Why haven’t I heard of a curriculum concierge service?
Curriculum concierge systems are standard practice at the highest levels of education — I’m simply tailoring that proven approach to individuals who desire the same level of support.

My Approach
Collaborative
I believe in the power of collaboration to create exceptional writing and analysis. As an extension of your team, I immerse myself in your vision and goals. I work closely with you to develop writing and analytical skills that not only reflect what you’ve learned but exceed your expectations.
Iterative
I take an iterative approach in my work to ensure the final result aligns with your creative vision and reflects your unique identity. We’ll work together to refine and fine-tune your writing, leaving no detail overlooked.
Literary Analysis and Essay Writing
Close reading and the search for meaning, both in literature and in life. Literature is the vehicle but we’re going to use it to travel to parts unknown, and on the way, learn about literary devices such as sensory imagery and figurative language. Metaphors are the heart of all analysis, and we’ll find out how and why, together.
Primarily a skill we think of as pertaining to school, essay writing is actually applicable to so many other areas of life. We’ll tackle the basics — thesis statements, topic and tie-back sentences, body paragraphs — but we’ll also experiment with form, structure, and significance.
Areas of Study
College Applications: the Common App and/or Supplementals
Really, college application writing is about finding your distinct, individual voice. Your identity. Together, we will find significant moments from your past and find a way to bring them into your future. We will highlight what makes you, you.
Set Up Your Own Writing Center
A Writing Center is the space most schools dream of but often don’t have the tools to make into a reality. It’s a space that benefits all constituents, from students to faculty to admin to parents. It takes, time, creativity, ingenuity, and research, but I have done all the work for you and would love to work together to see how the pieces could fit together at your school, institution, or private practice. I offer consultation or you can download your own Writing Center Starter Guide here.
What Clients are Saying
"I miss it. That's how good she is, you'd miss the class. Our class sessions were very engaging. She is very helpful and gives you feedback to guide you more. Awesome!!"
"I consider her a mentor, a really good one. She gives good feedback, and even after the finals ended, she still took the time to give me feedback on my performance in class. It was a fun and interactive class. In 6 weeks, I learned a lot. I've never enjoyed a college course the way I've enjoyed hers."
"She is very passionate about books. Her class discussions are fun! If you need clarity on a paper she will help you out, don't be shy to ask her for clarification she's more than happy to help! Great professor, I'm taking English 101 with another professor and it is almost the end of the semester and I am passing with an A because of Stevenson!"
"Professor Stevenson’s an energetic, passionate teacher. She has a clear enjoyment for feminist literature. She introduced me to some excellent feminist authors and helped me to develop some notions of my own."
